Planning Albanian Meals
With many days to celebrate in the calendar - the Albanian Independence Day, Christmas Day and New Years Day amongst the most popular ones to name it's great to have a big Albanian meal to share with family and friends.
With my Albanian family visiting this New Years Day we are having a repeat of our Albanian meals planned back from the Albanian Independence Day that we recognised in November.
Celebrate this New Years Day with my recommendation and be sure to have a great feast! Remember that you can add Meze, sides and extra servings too.
My Albanian meal plans represent Albania’s values, culture, history and cuisine
Meat, Peppers & Tomatoes | Mish Shqiptar
Albanian meat dishes are really popular and Albania’s food has always been based very heavily on lamb, beef, rabbit and veal.
Green Pepper Salad | Sallatë me Speca të Gjelbër
One of the most common vegetables grown in Albania are peppers (Speca).
Albanian Bread is served with every meal, traditionally Bukë Misri (Corn bread) is served instead or at least alongside wheat bread.
Three Milk Cake | Trilece
Albania is known for it’s sugar soaked desserts, the traditional recipe for the Albanian Trilece pudding goes back to the Ottaman era.
