Let’s cook in season, it’s August
Aubergines are grown at home in most gardens across Albania, growing above ground hanging down from tall leafed plants.

COOK IN SEASON THIS MONTH: AUBERGINES
Others: Beetroot, Broccoli, Carrots and Courgettes
The Albanian fruit and vegetable markets will often sell much smaller ones rather then large we see in supermarkets.
Grilled vegetables are often served as a popular starter or accompaniment with aubergines being one of the choice of vegetables to use. Often grilled aubergines will be served with courgettes and a yogurt sauce.
Did you know?
An Aubergine is also know as eggplant… is actually a fruit… and is a form of berry!
